"This is an outstanding color in the Tru Writer stable of fountain pens. All of the things that make this model so welcoming are there, the size, shape, feel in the hand, nib etc. . . . The thing that sets this pen apart from most others, even pens not Levenger made, is this unique resin. The color feels pliant in your hand, almost soft. There is depth in the chatoyance and just a hint of spark behind the swirls. It seems to mold itself to your hand and the pen just makes you happy. That's a great thing to say about anything in your life. Quite a few of these True Writer's fit in this category. I never would have thought a pen model would be that comfortable to write with. They really are True Writers."

Writes smooth out of the box!
"The Levenger Bordeaux True Writer fountain pen is the first pen I have found that writes smooth out of the box, no need to 'tune' the nib, a pleasant surprise. Bordeaux color is great, the swirls are deep in the resin and pop in the light, the gold trim is very nicely executed. weight is a light 18 gm (Kaweco AL 20 gm, Parker IM 27 gm) and very comfortable. Empyrean Blue ink is also a nice Atlantic Marlin blue color."
